How to Use Reverb and Delay Sends in Logic Pro
Master the professional way to add depth to your mix using dedicated effects sends for reverb and delay in Logic Pro.
Using sends for time-based effects allows you to process the effect separately from the original dry signal. This method provides more control and keeps your mix clear and focused.
Follow these steps
Create a Send Bus
Click an empty 'Send' slot on your track and choose an available Bus. A new Aux channel will appear in your mixer.
Insert the effect on the Aux
Insert a reverb plugin (like Space Designer) or a delay (like Echo) directly onto the new Aux channel.
Set plugin to 100% Wet
Crucially, open the plugin and set the 'Dry' signal to zero and the 'Wet' signal to 100%. The Aux should only output the effect.
Blend the effect level
Turn the Send knob on your original track up until you hear the desired amount of reverb or delay blended in.
Common mistakes
- Setting the Reverb plugin to less than 100% 'Wet' on an Aux track, which creates phase issues.
- Adding too many different types of reverb, leading to a cluttered and muddy sound.
