Follow these steps
Import your audio
Locate an audio file in the Finder or Logic's Browser and drag it into the empty track header area.
Select Sampler mode
Choose 'Quick Sampler (Original)' from the pop-up menu to keep the sample’s natural timing and pitch.
Trim the sample
Adjust the yellow start and end markers in the waveform display to trim the portion of audio you want to play.
Set the playback mode
Choose 'Classic' mode for melodic sounds or 'One Shot' for percussive hits that play to the end when triggered.
Shape the volume envelope
Click the 'Loudness' tab to adjust the Amp Envelope, adding 'Attack' to soften the start or 'Release' to let it fade out.
