How to Arrange a Song in Logic Pro
Transform your ideas into a full song. Learn to use the Arrangement Track to define verses, choruses, and bridges in Logic Pro.
This guide shows you how to structure your musical ideas into a complete song format. You will learn to use Arrangement Markers to define and move entire sections of your track.
Follow these steps
Show the Arrangement Track
Click the 'Global Tracks' button (above the track headers) and ensure the 'Arrangement' track is visible.
Add a section marker
Click the '+' icon on the Arrangement track to create a new section, which Logic will label 'Intro' by default.
Rename your sections
Click the name of the marker to rename it to Verse, Chorus, or Bridge from the drop-down menu.
Resize the sections
Drag the edges of the markers to match the length of your musical phrases (usually 8 or 16 bars).
Move entire song sections
Select a marker and drag it to a different position to move every region under that section to a new time.
Common mistakes
- Creating a song with no variation between sections, making the arrangement feel repetitive and boring.
- Overlapping Arrangement Markers, which can cause confusion when using them to move entire sections.
